Parked at the beach on the edge of the mangroves, we had just finished dinner and it was time to go for a little walk. So I open the door to let Willow out and what I heard next both startled and confused me. Ka-splash!!! I look down and Willow is looking back up at me in 6 inches of water! Seems the tide was coming in strong. Willow makes a bolt for higher ground and I follow closely behind to try and grab her so I can move the car to ensure our safe passage to the farmer’s market tomorrow. Luckily she walks/swims back around and I place her back inside just in time to catch her before she tries to jump onto our lovely clean bed. With soggy paws the both us I figure it’s probably time to reconsider the nights camp so we drive out fish-tailing along the muddy road in the rain just as sections of it flood behind us. We are now safe, dry, and warm tucked into bed dreaming of fresh fruit and veggies, sausage rolls, and cream cakes and laughing about our little misadventure!
