Read more: 6th Nov, 2014Using the cargo restraint points I will be able to bolt the framework for the bed and shelves securely to the floor. The bolts use a triple square drive bit which I had to get from a specialty tool shop. Things are really starting to move now. I will be posting more pics next week…

Read more: 2nd Nov, 2014Installation of sound proofing. I’ve used a mixture of Dynamat Extreme and a cheaper near identical brand I found on eBay. To my untrained ear I cannot tell the difference, but the Dynamat is definitely easier to work with.

Roof rack rail preparation is not available as a factory option on mid and high roof Transporters so the rack feet were screwed into the fibreglass where the braces were underneath (four on each side). I got them to leave some thread on the underside…

Read more: 21st Oct, 2014Here are some snaps showing the double bench swivel in action. The clearance around the sides is tight so it takes some practice being able to rotate it smoothly. Definitely worth the effort to add some more lounge space to the cabin.

Read more: 20th Oct, 2014Surprise connectors during double bench seat swivel installation. Was not expecting these from the instructions which only mentioned fuses. I had to peal back the electrical tape on some of the bunches so I could route the fuses over to under the drivers seat and sat the connectors in the recess so that the swivel…
