  • Exploring old Relics with Willow

    Today Willow and I got to explore an abandoned abattoir which was used by the Australian Army in the second world war. We both had a look around the ruins before watching the sun set in all its Northern Territory glory.

    Have a look at little Willow! I was searching through photos when I found this pic which was taken in 2012 shortly after her adoption. Given how much she has grown I’m guessing she was much younger than 2 years which is what the shelter told me. Look at her staring out the window dreaming…

    Meow meow meow. This is mah van, there are many like it but this one is mine. We are back on the road after a pleasant 2 weeks with friends in Darwin. Now to head west on some rough roads to Broome, Western Australia.

    When Willow wants to come inside the van she will climb the rear ladder, stomp noisily over the roof until I open the sliding door, then slide down the windscreen before standing on the bonnet for a few moments.

    What a wild ride! Borroloola to Mataranka. 560km in two days, mostly gravel and only one flat tyre. Looking forward to an easy ride on the highway up to Darwin. After so many creek crossings and dust I have no idea how Willow looks this good.
